While this guide is targeted at players new to Horizon 1.8, even some experienced players have mentioned finding a tidbit or two here. This is my strategy for getting settlements up and running as soon as possible with a focus on missions. I spend some time talking about the whats, hows and whys of each Horizon specific item and/or mechanic and then walk through setting up the first settlement. A majority of the information in this guide is available on the Horizon Wiki and I do include many wiki links, but my goal is to provide a big picture view of building and managing settlements in Horizon 1.8.
